Thanks! He's one of my favorites too. I tend to use that drawing alot whenever I have to show anything.
Here's something I'm working on right now. I think I will finish her, tomorrow.
A bunch of details to be worked out still.
-Her hand is a little funny to me, I'll fix/replace it.
-Her clothing needs to be detailed, textured, and the cape needs a little work too.
-Then some adjustments here and there.
-Lastly a background of somekind, just for more interest. Maybe a texture or something. I don't want anything to distracting.
Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for looking at my stuff! |

I think the hand may seem strange because it doesn't seem to have a wrist to connect it to the arm. The head seems a bit large (not entirely recognizable though - the hair kinda fixes it up) in comparison to the body and the hands as well.
Keep up the good work ^_^ |

You know, looking at it now, I think the whole arm needs to come off and be changed. It looks sorta attached artifically. Also there's a tangent with her elbow and the cape, which is a very distracting thing.
Heads are usually a little big for me, especially on females. I think its because I draw thier shoulders smaller.
Thanks for replying! |

Yes, an Intous 2 4x5. I know, small and old, but I've been using it for so long that its bonded to me. I don't think I could change...at least if I did, it would take a long time to get used to.
I also use custom brushes in Photoshop, if you want to know them.
Here are two sketches hot off the drawing board, I think I'm going to color them.

Yup, some weapon sketches.
I cooked these up the other night while talking to a friend on the phone.
Colored them today, although I didn't want to color these. I was going to refine them more and more, coming up with better drafts. But another friend got all whiny on me about posting just the pencil sketch on my blog, so much to my shagrin, I colored them.
What do you think?

I'm posting this here and in the finish section without its pencil. Its kinda both.
This is the character which I use as my internet name. He is also my avatar of a sorts. Although on the internet (unlike, say, the Metaverse in SnowCrash) you cannot see the other person, but if you could, I would probably go with this.
I've had this character since the 10th grade and have just been upgrading him over the years. He follows some of my favorite character traits, belts, swords, long hair, big boots, baggy pants, etc. I'll follow this drawing up with a young version, his swords collection, items, spells, abilities, and so on.
This particular costume is a slight upgrade to the one I created in my senior year in college. I added the belts, and switched the details of his armor. The ridges are gone and a simple version of the "circuit" design is there instead.
This was a fairly easy thing to paint. Since he follows the hero-in-black architype, his clothing has very little light on it. In a previous post where I put up the pencil for this, you can see I planned out the folds in his clothing and the shapes of the black areas. This only tricky part was the sheath, which ended up looking bent just before I finished. So that was a pain to change.
There are detail drawings of him on my website and posts of my blog.

Large file! Sorry if it slows anyone down!
So, here's the weekend project. Hairstyles for the female elf character, with the crazy gradient hair.
The only crazy-difficult-thing I can see right now is that, when I light her up at the end, it might take a awhile. Just so many faces and hairs to do, it will take a bit of time. Even if I copy and paste most of it.
Still very rough, obviously, but I will be updated this post as I go. No need to clog up the thread with lots of these pictures.
Styles are from left to right, up to down:
-Normal
-Pigtails
-Tail with spikes
-Ponytail High
-Three tails
-Wet
-Modern Anime
-Wide Tail
-CharacterDesign.com photoset style. Yes I look at those!!
-Lulu-ish bun (FFX)
-Greek Style 1
-Greek Style 2
If you see anything or want to contribute advice or critiques, feel free to do so, I'll be checking here often.

The large hair piece has been updated. The style in the lower left corner is the closest to being completed. The white circle, BTW, is a reminder to fix her ponytail when I come around to it.
Also here is a larger version of it:
Exclusive to this forum! Since I was inspired by one of the photosets on the front page. I would say about 80%-90% done. Mainly tweaks and stuff.
Thanks for viewing!
*EDIT*
Updated again! Now there are a bunch of faces at that 80% level!
Hit refresh to see it if you haven't done so already! |

These are weapons for my main elf male character. These are the second drafts. I think I'll do one more then a final containing them all.
They are from right to left:
-Guardian (The Bruce)
-Guardian (Hoplite)
-Gladius
-Bastard Sword
-Falcata
-The Heavy Metal Sword
-Meat (Cross-hatched Ham)
Tell me what you think.
Thanks for viewing!
P.S.
I'm giving the hair a break for a day so I can draw some new stuff. I did color to more of them out, but I did not upload them yet. |
